All screens look into the One

About the web:

I find it interesting the way he words this to imply the "omnipotency" of the web with its  ever expanding influence.

"There is only One machine
The web is its OS
All screens look into the One
No bits will live outside the web
To share is to gain
Let the One read it"

(borrowed  from Kevin Kelly on the TED website)

Relating this to real estate as I see it in Toronto, an increasingly higher percentage of buyers are searching the web for homes doing more research on neighbourhoods and the topics of interest.

The recent introduction of realtor.ca, ther newest version of the Canadian public MLS system, the interactive capabilities based around the mapping system have taken a huge leap forward. Simply zoom into the area of interest, input you living space criteria, then wait a few seconds for the listings to popup. Frightfully simple. In most cases, I find the web useful for overviews, general statistics and individual opinions on areas and the houses in them. An arbitrary description of a house and effectively enhanced photos, don't give you you the info necessary compared to living in and seeing the real thing. That said, not using the web in a modern capacity will severely hurt a sellers chances of receiving top dollar.
